Dolly Parton escaped the struggles that shaped her life at an early age through her imaginative and creative imagination. Before she could read or write she wrote herself songs. Once she had her first instrument at age of eight, she started performing on radio stations in Knoxville in Tennessee. The same year she released her first recording on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Her name was made in the local scene while in high school, however she dreamed of a bigger stage. The year 1964 was the day that followed her graduation from high school her family moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. The syndicated television show of Porter Wagoner was in need of a new singer at around the time. Parton was hired in 1966, she joined RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. She left Wagoner's show, but in 1974, because her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. The song by Parton, I Will Never Love You (for Wagoner), reached the number. number 1 position after the duo broke up. It was the first time a single hit the top spot.
